Grocery Shopping Tips and Tricks

ways to save money at the grocery store e1520994798805 - 10 Brilliant Grocery Shopping Tips That’ll Save Time and Money

1. Download money-saving apps.

Before leaving your house, download money saving apps such as Ibotta and Flipp to earn cash back and get weekly flyers/deals sent directly to your phone.

2. Make a list.

Make a list before you leave the house and stick with it. No matter what.

3. Don’t listen to the music!

Be aware of the music that is playing in the grocery store! It is selected to make you unintentionally walk slower thus making you stay in the store longer. Bring your own music to listen to while you shop to stay focused.

4. Only grocery shop when it’s necessary.

Never go to store for just one item. It’s a waste of time and money plus you’re more likely to buy more things that you don’t need.

5. Leave the credit cards home.

Leave your credit card at home. Only grocery shop with cold, hard cash. When it’s physically in your hand, then you can better keep track of how much you spend.

6. Skip the bananas with the spots.

Avoid buying bananas with brown spots as they are already in the process of going bad. Instead buy slightly green bananas and wrap the end where they gather with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to preserve them for longer.

7. Know this trick for buying ripe fruit.

When buying pineapple, you can tell if it’s ripe by smelling the bottom of it. The same trick works for strawberries.

8. Thump the watermelon.

Thump a watermelon to check for ripeness. If it has a hollow sound, then it’s sweet and ready for eating.

9. Buy in bulk only when it makes sense.

Buy in bulk when it makes sense, such as when your favorite shampoo or toothpaste is on sale. Don’t buy items that are easily perishable such as fruit and vegetables as most will spoil before eaten.

10. Avoid the items in the checkout line!

Avoid buying anything near or on the checkout line. Those items were strategically placed there to make you spend more money!

the incredibly simple way i make money with ebates 5d0dd54dc71b9 - The Incredibly Simple Way I Make Money with Ebates

I love Ebates!

My Ebates strategy, is really freakin’ simple and if you would like to earn a few extra bucks on the side then using it would be perfect for you.

How I Make Money with Ebates

Affiliate links included. Full disclosure here.

In case you are wondering, Ebates is an amazing cash-back site that gives you money when you shop through one of their partner retailers.

Since, I’ve been a member with Ebates I’ve been able to make over $500 in a short span of 5 months. During that time period I’ve also been awarded a $60 and $100 bonus.

It may not be much for many, but the $500 I have earned using Ebates does help a little around my household such as buying pampers for the little one and being able to go on a date night or two with the hubby.

So, if you want to know what this strategy entails, then keep reading.

1. You will get $10 just for signing up.

Ebates is dishing out money like crazy right now and honestly no one knows how long that will last. So just for signing up with Ebates, which is totally free, you’ll earn a $10 bonus when you make a minimum $25 purchase.

So if you spend $25 with one of their retailers, you will have actually spent $15 as they will credit your account $10 (plus any cash-back that you receive)

Oh, by the way, the cashback you earn can be redeemed as a Big Fat Check which they’ll deposit right into your bank account within a couple of weeks.

2. Stay ahead of deals.

I frequently receive emails from Ebates when they are having really good deals. If I find a store that I was planning to make a purchase from, such as Nike, I would simply shop through their website and earn my cash back.

To double my savings, I would opt to use one of my cash-back credit cards to finish the purchase as that is a win-win deal for everyone.

3. Its all in the referrals.

Have you heard the phrase, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. Well the same case applies here.

At the moment, Ebates will give you a $5 base bonus for every friend that you refer to their website that makes at least a $25 purchase with one of their retailers.

Ebates has over 600 retailers to include Walmart and Amazon so finding a store to shop at would be no problem!

All that you need to do is find a few friends that enjoys shopping online and share your referral link with them.

4. There are tiered-bonuses!

Ebates’ tiered bonuses are amazing! And if you if want to cash in on these then you need to hurry because the promotional period ends on December 31, 2017.

Nevertheless, when you refer a certain amount of people, Ebates will give you an additional bonus on top of the base referral of $5. Below you can see the chart.

Bonus Tip!

If you have a Facebook account, sharing your referral code is even easier and can help you earn even more money.

When I find good deals, I share an update on my timeline such as, “Hey, just sharing that I got a 40% percent off coupon for Nike through Ebates. It’s free to sign up and you’ll get $10! Here’s the link“.

Most often, my friends will share my posts with their friends and so on.

If you need and want extra money now then keep reading because in this post because I’m going to share with you my top favorite ways that I make money online from home (with actual proof!) along with other legitimate ways that you can make your first few bucks within minutes.

You might want to bookmark this page for later because you’ll definitely need it.

Keep scrolling below to check out these awesome money-making ideas!

1. Shop with Ebates.

I absolutely love Ebates! Ebates is a wonderful little site that offers you cash back on purchases from stores that you usually shop at every single day. Since signing up with them about 5 months ago, I have earned close to $50 bucks a month without any hard work, sweat or tears. So yeah,  below is my screenshot from my personal account and what I’ve earned so far.

This is how I earn easy money with Ebates: Before I buy anything and I mean anything I immediately search Ebates to see if the store I plan to purchase from has any cash back deals. If so, I shop. (That’s a no brainer!)

Next, I make a quick facebook post to my friends such as, “Just sharing my coupon’s link with anyone who’s interested in 20% off at Nike. Free to sign up and we both earn $5!“.

And guess what? Because your friends and family trust you and would also like a great deal, they will sign up and you both just earned a quick $5. BAM! It’s really that simple.

2. Take surveys on Swagbucks.

Another website that I love to make money from is Swagbucks. They have so many different ways that you can earn quick cash, but my favorite way is through their short and easy surveys.

Inkedswagbucks proof LI e1522507708496 - 11 Beyond Easy Ways to Make Real Money from Home

The surveys take anywhere between 5-20 minutes to complete and you’ll earn points that you can later redeem for cash, gift cards and other incentives. So far I have earned over 2,000 Swagbucks which I can redeem for a $20 gift card to the store of my choice or deposit into my bank account via Paypal.

Similar to my Ebates strategy, after completing a survey or other task, I make a quick post to Facebook,”Just earned a $5 gift card from taking a quick survey. You can get one too by signing up for free with my link and we both earn $3!
